Schuylkill River Park Volunteer Day

The Friends of the Schuylkill River Park will hold a Love-your Park Spring Service day on Saturday, May 7th starting at 9AM and running until noon.  We will refresh the park, clean up debris accumulated over the winter, and generally make the park sparkle.  We will mulch around trees and plants.  We will plant flowers and small bushes, and clear weeds in the planting beds.

We will meet at the Markward Center at the Southwest corner of the park at 400 S. Taney at 9AM, The event ends at noon.  Tools and gloves will be provided.  Signup is through the Fairmont Park Conservancy. In case of rain, we will work on Saturday May14th. See you there!

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
