Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center Service Day

Shofuso needs your help reclaiming it's surrounding arboretum areas. We are aiming to beautify the approach and greater grounds of the house, and our solo gardener could use a few extra hands to make it happen! The volunteer day will consist mostly of general brush and debris clean up, leaf raking, as well as invasive plant and weed removal. No prior gardening experience necessary. Come prepared to work amongst dirt and brambles, so closed toed shoes and long pants / shirts are recommended. If you happen to have personal gloves and a small trowel of your own, do not hesitate to bring them along. There will also be opportunities for lighter and more specified weeding inside the grounds of the garden itself for any experienced gardeners out there. Coffee and Donuts will be available as refreshment during the workday. *Same-day free tours of the house will be available to all volunteers, & Free passes will also be provided to all volunteers so they may return with friends and family on a day of their choice* Thanks so much, and we here at Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center look forward to seeing you out there!
