Bluebird Workday at Chamounix Meadow

Join us for a private volunteer workday for Bluebird employees! We will work together to plant 50 native trees and shrubs in this special meadow in West Fairmount Park. This project is part of a multi-year effort by Fairmount Park Conservancy  to restore this critical habitat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear? 
  • All participants are required to wear masks.
  • We strongly recommend wearing long pants that cover your ankles and long sleeves to protect your arms.
  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like boots or sneakers are also required(no ballet flats, flip flops, or sandals).
  • Volunteers are also required to wear gloves while working. Gloves will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own. You may also want to consider wearing a hat or sunglasses. 
  • In general, please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Where can I park?
There is a free public parking lot at this location along Chamounix Drive. The lot is across the street from the tennis courts.

Will there be water on site? 
Please bring a reusable water bottle.
 
Is there a place to keep my personal belongings? 
There is not a locked or enclosed area for personal belongings. We recommend leaving personal items locked in the trunk of your vehicle. 
 
Should I bring anything else? 
We ask all participants to bring their own reusable water bottle. In addition, please consider bringing a snack, sunblock, a hat – anything you will want or need in order to feel comfortable working outdoors for a few hours. If you have allergies (including to bees), please remember to bring your medications or EpiPen. 
 
Are there bathrooms on site? 
There are portable bathrooms near the site.
