Bartram's Garden

Join the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) and We Walk PHL on Oct 1st for a walking tour of Bartram's Garden and the soon-to-open Schuylkill Crossing Swing Bridge! We will meet up in the parking lot area between the barn and visitor center.

The swing bridge will provide a safe bicycle and pedestrian connection from Southwest Philly, fill a gap in the Circuit Trails system, and promote access to green space.

Walking by the bridge (please note that due to remaining work on the bridge, we will not be crossing the structure itself), we will hear from a City of Philadelphia Streets Department engineer and DVRPC's regional trails planner who will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the bridge project and trails planning.

The bridge tour will be followed by a guided walk around Bartram's Garden led by We Walk PHL walk leaders. A free dinner will be provided at 6 pm in the Bartram's Garden picnic area after the walk (to-go option will be available).

Please note: Capacity is limited, so please let us know if your availability changes after your register. The tour includes around 45 minutes of walking over flat terrain with breaks throughout. This will be an outdoor event with limited access to restrooms. The rain date for the tour would be Monday, October 5th for this event.
