Evenings with Stewardship: Fisher Park

Join Philadelphia Parks and Recreation's Stewardship Team for a volunteer workday at Fisher Park on Monday, September 14th, from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. We will meet at the park entrance on the corner of W Nedro Avenue and N 7th Street (see location here) and work along the trails within the park to clear overgrown plants, particularly invasive species. 

This is the first of two workdays that the stewardship team will be hosting on Monday evenings at Fisher Park. The second one will take place on Monday, September 21st, from 5:00- 6:30 pm. If you are interested in attending, register here.

This volunteer event is open to people of all abilities. Anyone interested is welcome to participate but please be advised that bathrooms nearby are not guaranteed. Please bring water, sunscreen, and snacks as needed! We will provide the appropriate tools. 

This event will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or thunder or severe weather conditions.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

• In general, please wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like boots or sneakers are required (no ballet flats, flip-flops, or sandals).

• We strongly recommend wearing long pants that cover your ankles and long sleeves to protect your arms. While we will not be working directly with poison ivy, you may find some on the trail.

• Please bring a water bottle with you, as well as sun protection and any snacks you may need.
